Handcrafted using state-of-the-art artisan techniques, our Travel Chess and Backgammon Set marries modernist design with unparalleled levels of craftsmanship.

Originally moulded from clay by our founder and designer Melissa Morris, the chess and backgammon pieces are inspired by Melissa’s favourite 20th century works of art and are a nod to her background in sculpture. We used hand-picked Ebony and Olive wood to carve the pieces. The natural markings and rich colour of the wood make each piece truly unique. Tuck the game pieces away inside the beautiful Alcantara-lined game board and transport your set safely.

The reversible playing board, also carved from natural wood, is inlayed with precisely cut pieces in our signature Buffalo and Smooth Calfskin leather. It is also etched with an intricate border, created using the Métier symbol, and fitted with magnetic plates to allow you to play when on the move.

The hardware, as all of our pieces, has been crafted from solid brass. The hinges of the board have been remodelled to display our iconic 2:1 diamond, while the lock is created using the same signature mechanism as our signature Flip Lock.
